I went with the braided cable version and the sound is honestly stunning for acoustic guitar tracks. The open-back design leaks a lot of sound, so I only use them in my quiet room.

Picked the XLR termination for my desktop amp and the difference over the standard plug is noticeable. The braided cable also feels sturdy enough that I'm not babying it. Easily the most comfortable pair I've worn for long listening sessions.

The hemp cups feel substantial and warm in the hand, nothing like the cold plastic of my old pair. Hooked up the standard braided cable and these things just disappear into the music, crisp and alive from the first track.
